Register of Marriage Outside of JPN office

We have been thinking where to have our ROM. He suggested that we did it at Hotel rather than at JPN offices or temple or associations. Reasons being:

1) all your friends and relatives can comfortably witness in the Hotel
2) do it before or during your wedding dinner, so your guests no need to spare another day for your ROM
3) Hotel settings are nice and comfy. (Park Royal did the settings for me for 50pax Free! )
4) No need to prepare lunch or dinner after ROM as they can have their refreshment during the wedding dinner!
5) No need to incur extra costs for your ROM attire, photographer, make up artist.

There are CONS too.. there are more procedures to apply ROM outside JPN office , you must make sure they are JPN officer willing to do it on their rest days and you pay extra (RM500 ++ instead of RM30) for your ROM. But with the pros i listed out above, is worth to pay the extra RM500++.

To apply for Registration of Marriage Outside of JPN office, what we have done:

1) As both of our IC address are Seremban, so we need to go to JPN Seremban to submit JPN.KC02form. (refer to link above for supporting documents to bring) and told them we want to have the registration in KL. Then wait for 21 days, we went back to JPN Seremban to collect the form with a letter to JPN KL.  If you plan to register at KL, you must go to KL JPN and not PJ or Shah Alam JPN. We collect the JPN.KC01E form from JPN Seremban also.

2) With the approved JPN.KC02 form and completed JPN.KC01E form , we need to have commissioner of oaths for both form. You need to find a Pesuruhjaya Sumpah to do that. We paid RM15 for the oaths. Supporting documents for JPN.KC01E form includes bride and groom ICs + passport photo + 2 witness's ICs + JPN.KC02 form + Letter from JPN Seremban.

3) We then call up one of the KL JPN officer which we got the contact from our friend, is an officer JPN dutamas (call the general line 03-6205 7600 ) to check whether he can do our ROM on his rest day. PM me if you need to know who is him.

4) We then submit all the documents to him to process.

    The officer who did for me is mr Ramani from dutamas jpn. He only can do for ROM at kl area. He is good, he will make ur ROM merrier n interesting.

    Yes. U can do it at night time.
    Rm 500 is fixed charges to Jpn n on top of that u might need to give 'angpau' money to the officer for his out station claim

    Hi there. Thanks for the infos. May I know how long did it take to get the approval from the day you started to apply? After the approval, the ceremony has to be done within one month? Thanks in advance.

    'The licences JPN.KC01C, JPN.01D and JPN.KC01E are valid for one month from the date of approval'

    Due to I booked the officer time in advance so the approval was less than 1 week as the approval usually subject the availability of the officer to do the out of JPN office registration. And to your 2nd question, yes, it must done within one month.

    Hi , isn't very troublesome to get the approval to do the solemnization at outside? I had book the hotel in JB and do you think I can persuade mr ramani to become my soleminizer or anyone others to recommend? Pls help!

    Masaki, I dont think you can get him to go over to JB. Only JB officer can do the solemnization in JB hotel.

    Hi, glad that I found your blog, Wonder World. It does help me alot, thank you so much. However, my case gonna be different, as my groom's IC address is located in Selangor, and mine in Seremban.I do wish to change my IC address for personal reasons. So does it mean that I need to go to both JPN Selangor & JPN Seremban to submit the JPN.KC02 form? and after 21days collected from both places and send it over to JPN KL and we planned to have our ROM in KL too. Hope someone can help me out =(

      there are different procedures for non Malaysian. I suggest you check with Jpn office or their website. If you plan yo hv rom at pj, u hv to go to pj office not putrajaya

    Hi, my case is I have already submitted my forms and everything to Thean Hou Temple. For some reasons, I'm thinking to change the venue to another place instead. I know its kinda stupid and odd to burn that RM80 and pay extra RM500 but was just thinking.

    Is it possible to appoint someone from Thean Hou Temple to be our officiant?

    Do I need to re-fill the form at JPN and go through the commissioner of oath process again? Anybody have any idea?
